Thank you for taking the time to find out more about Hertfordshire is Ready for Winners SportsAid, which has been designed to support athletes from HERTFORDSHIRE who have already demonstrated their sporting talent, potential and a will to succeed through their performances in their chosen sport.

Hertfordshire is Ready for Winners SportsAid has been established to provide support to young, emerging athletes from HERTFORDSHIRE for the following reasons:

• The average spend on a 12-16 year old talented athlete is £5,000 per annum
• This meets the costs of travel, accommodation, competition fees and kit and is generally borne by the athletes’ parents / guardians
• Rarely does any other funding reach this level of individual athlete even although many are competing at a national or even international level
• Young talent needs help and recognition - Hertfordshire is Ready for Winners SportsAid provides both!

The support SportsAid grants give to young athletes when they need it most cannot be underestimated as Sir Steve Redgrave, Five time Olympic gold medallist & SportsAid alumnus states:

 “The work of SportsAid is so important to British sport. If you are young, ambitious and just beginning to experience success, SportsAid is where you go for help.”
