SportsAid is already helping young athletes from Hertfordshire, by providing grants to help them develop in their sport and reach their potential at a time when other support is limited. Hertfordshire is Ready for Winners SportsAid has been created to work alongside SportsAid to specifically help potential World Class athletes from Hertfordshire.

Rather than creating a new organisation to manage the donations we receive, we have chosen to work with the National charity SportsAid as they possess the skills, expertise and procedures to administer the grant application process in a fair, consistent and transparent way. Therefore athletes or their coaches / parents should not approach Hertfordshire is Ready for Winners SportsAid directly to request support or funding as we cannot accept any requests for support.

Instead, athletes or their coaches / parents should follow the instructions below in the “How to Apply” section and contact their National Governing Body to request a SportsAid application if they feel they meet the criteria listed in this section.

The money raised by Hertfordshire is Ready for Winners SportsAid and managed by SportsAid will be “ring-fenced” for Hertfordshire. In simple terms this means that there is the funding for more athletes from Hertfordshire to receive SportsAid grants than was previously so (as long as the athletes meet the criteria to be eligible for a grant) because there will be more money available to fund grant applications from young athletes living in Hertfordshire.
