The Russell School - Olympic Supporter (May 2010)

One Wednesday, in May 2010, the Russell School in Chorleywood, had a special visitor to their school. Her name was Rosemary Mula a former teacher. Her story was inspirational and provided the children with a wonderful opportunity to experience and discover the true meaning of the Olympic values.

Ready for Winners work with Turnford Olympic Squad
(March 2011)

On Thursday 3rd March, the Turnford Olympic Sports Club took part in a task, which involved creating their own sports activity. Two members of the Herts is Ready for Winners team took a workshop and presented on the Olympics in 2012.

The students were split into five different groups, consisting of one or two students from each year. In the groups the students were asked to create a sports day event involving any of the sports from the Olympics and Paralympics.

Commonwealth Youth Games (September 2011)

The Partnership has attracted four National Olympic Committees to train in Hertfordshire before the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games next year. All four sent teams to the Commonwealth Youth Games on the Isle of Man in September and three of them have decided to incorporate a visit to Hertfordshire in their trip to the UK, so the Partnership saw this as a perfect opportunity for some school engagement.
