Last year's fully subscribed event was described by silver Olympic medallist Mark Richardson as, "A fabulous initiative by the Hertfordshire is Ready for Winners Partnership to increase participation and get the business people of Hertfordshire doing more exercise. Wellbeing in the workplace has obvious benefits and it is great to see people getting involved and competing in an event which is fun too." Mark won a bronze medal in Barcelona (1992) and silver in Atlanta (1996) both in the 4x400m relay.

Mark Jennings, Fitness Manager at North Herts Leisure Centre and competitor on the day for last year's winning team, Stevenage Leisure Ltd said, “We had a great day, and would really like to thank the team who organised the event.

“We were hoping for at least a top three finish at the start of the day and as the day progressed we were more and more confident that we could win. We thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon athletics and relay as it took us back to our school days!

“We would definitely take part again and look forward to joining in if it is running next year.”
