The Hertfordshire is Ready for Winners Partnership has announced another of their award winning business breakfast events ‘Win Business Gold’. The upcoming event is hosted by Van Hage Garden and Leisure Centre in Great Amwell on Thursday 23 June.
Olympian Alison Mowbray, who won a silver medal in Athens (2004) in the Quad Scull rowing event, combined with other speakers will be inspiring local businesses to get themselves ready for the London 2012 Games.
Firms in and around East Herts have already won Olympic contracts as suppliers and service providers and this event, which allows other local firms to learn about London 2012’s procurement system (CompeteFor) and how they might win contracts from Business Link experts, aims to inspire others to do the same.
This Business Breakfast event, supported by East Herts District Council, will enable invitees to enjoy a cooked breakfast, meet an Olympic medallist and local young talented athletes, find out about Hertfordshire’s Olympic venue - the Lee Valley White Water Centre, and network with other local business people. This event also includes a presentation from a Hertfordshire firm based in who have successfully won an Olympic contract.
The partnership’s last event, at the Ramada Cromwell Hotel in Stevenage, Alison inspired local businesses to recognise their goals, urging the packed out room to not sit on their laurels but rather grab the once in a lifetime opportunity with both hands. She talked of her personal journey to winning silver in the Quad Scull rowing event in 2004 Games, almost choking with emotion towards the end and stressing that there was no time for ‘what if’ and regret in sport or in business.
These free events are very popular so businesses are advised to book as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
