Hertfordshire is Ready for Winners Corporate Games is back for 2012, taking place on Tuesday 19 June at Wodson Park, Ware.
This year’s event is supported by international service company, Serco and promises to be bigger and better than last year with businesses from across the county battling it out in sporting challenges.
The Hertfordshire is Ready for Winners Corporate Games is designed to be a fun day of networking and competition, including football, netball, kwik cricket, badminton, athletics and golf, it is affordable for local businesses at just £125 +VAT for a team of seven and includes all activities, lunch and team t-shirts. Options are also available for teams made up of members from different companies to enter the Corporate Games too.
Last year’s fully subscribed event, saw teams from local companies competing in sporting events, whilst also meeting new people, making new contacts, promoting their services and getting back into sport – fulfilling part of the Partnerships ambition to increase participation levels in sport.
Silver Olympic medallist Mark Richardson is very supportive of the event saying, "This is a fabulous initiative by the Hertfordshire is Ready for Winners Partnership to increase participation and get the business people of Hertfordshire doing more exercise. Wellbeing in the workplace has obvious benefits and it is great to see people getting involved and competing in an event which is fun too." Mark won a bronze medal in Barcelona (1992) and silver in Atlanta (1996) both in the 4x400m relay.

Matthew Bramwell, Serco Operations Director said “Our partnerships with Hertfordshire County Council and across the District Councils within the County now employ over 600 people. Sponsoring the Hertfordshire is Ready for Winners Corporate Games is an opportunity to put something back into the communities that we work in. We will also be entering a team this year hoping to improve on our placing in the 2011 event”.
Derrick Ashley, Chairman of the Hertfordshire is Ready for Winners Board, said, “I am delighted that Serco have come onboard to sponsor this year’s event. We had hoped the Hertfordshire is Ready for Winners Corporate Games would become a regular annual feature in the county’s businesses calendar and getting the backing of a global company is a positive step.”
Businesses can now enter a team of seven - any age, any ability, any business by downloading the entry form here.
