London 2012 Olympic Games Sports Competition Schedule published

Five days of canoe slalom competition in Hertfordshire have been revealed today as The London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) published the full sports competition schedule for the London 2012 Olympic Games.

The Canoe Slalom event runs for five consecutive afternoons starting with the men’s heats at 13.30 on Sunday 29th July and ending with both men and women in action in semi-finals and finals between 13.30 and 17.00 on Thursday 2nd August.

The Lee Valley White Water Centre has capacity for 12,000 spectators during Gamestime and tickets cost between £20 for the heats and £150 for the ‘A’ category seats for the final. Special prices for young people and seniors are available on two of the days.

The sports competition schedule is published exactly a month before London 2012 Olympic tickets go on sale. 6.6 million tickets are on sale to the public from 15th March to 26th April 2011. There is no advantage to applying early and it is not first come first served – everyone has an equal chance. Oversubscribed sessions will be balloted.

The full sports competition schedule has taken over two years to develop, and contains the full details of 19 days of sporting competition, including the times and venues for over 640 session, across over 300 events, 39 disciplines, and 26 sports.
